Today I was having lunch with my good friend Mary Ellen Stewart at Amerigo's. Towards the end of the meal we noticed a luminescent-green insect crawling on the wall next to us. Upon further inspection we realized that it was a roach. After it flew at us and had us acting like little children, Mary Ellen dispatched its soul to the realm of Sheol. We showed the insect to the waitress, who just smiled and took the napkin coffin away with her. How f*****g kind of her.
I did some research on our insect friend and was quite amazed at how rare he or she was. We were in the company of a Cuban Roach. The Cuban cockroach is about 1/4" long as an adult. Males and females are pale green, whereas the nymphs are dark brown. It is an outdoors, tropical species that is usually not found in Mississippi. Pretty neat stuff...unless you are trying to eat Chicken Marsala Over Angel Hair.
